The Stuyvesant's were a very wealthy family, and named many things in New York, like Bed-stuy, Stuy town and Stuyvesant high school. The family had a large New Jersey estate called "Tranquility Farms" with 5,000 acres of land and a 65 room mansion which burned down in 1959. The land was then purchased by the state and became part on a national park, but they never tore down the remaining structures. It was named the Profanity houses, because of all of the profanity in each house on every single surface.
