The Abercrombie Castle was owned by David Abercrombie the co-founder of Abercrombie and Fitch. Elda began construction in 1925 and was finished in 1928. Elda was named after all four of his children, Elizbeth, Lucy, David and Abott. Abercrombie's wife was a architect and designed the entire castle which is 4,337 square feet and has 4 bedrooms, and 4 bathrooms. The castle also has 50 acres of woods surrounding it, the castle also boasted a firing range and a pond, which he let the local police and priests use. The family loved the outdoors, as well as horse back ridding and shooting so this home was perfect for them. The castle became and oasis for the family when Davids two children passed away, Lucy in 1929 and David in 1937. Lucy passed away in a Abercrombie factory building in 1929, she was working with a chemical mixture when a spark set off the mixture. His son David then passed away 8 years later when a horse by accidentally kicked him. When David Abercrombie passed away his wife moved in with another daughter and left Elda unoccupied until it was sold. Photos: Me

Old world building! Built way before 1928.
