Parksville, NY was discovered by early New England settlers, and one of the most important settlers was Williams Parks who built mills and created a community in Parksville. The Ontario & Western railway was built right near Parksville and brought people up from the NYC into the Catskills. High end resorts and restaurants started popping up as people from the city started vacationing in the Catskills. When the Catskills "went out of fashion" all the restaurants and hotels became abandoned. People still live in Parksville but many business, hotels, and houses lay abandoned. History Sources:

As a kid, I loved staying in a bungalow colony just outside the village of Parksville. My uncle owned the grocery on the Main Street. Probably one of the best times of my life. It’s heartbreaking seeing what’s happened to the village.

Many fond memories of family vacations at Parksville Hotel- and I mean whole family. Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
