The Pines Hotel was built in 1933, as a Catskills Ski Resort. The hotel included an ice skating rink, theater, golf course, baseball field, conference center and indoor and outdoor pools. Pines became one of the largest hotels in the area, and expanded and added 400 guest rooms, nightlife, winter sports, and summer recreation facilities. Right after the new buildings were finished, less and less people went up to the Catskills causing The Pines to close in 1998. History Sources:
